Questions to ask yourself

Ask yourself great questions, and you will end up with a great life story. Our brains will answer the questions we give it. Most of us are asking pretty low quality questions. Here are some seemingly innocent questions having a major impact in your life: What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with (insert spouse, child, friend)? Why does that always happen to me? And the six’s favorite question? What could go wrong? Our super powerful brains WILL answer the questions we ask it.

When we ask great questions, we will get creative interesting answers back. When we ask questions that are asking about our or someone else’s limitations, our brain will answer those questions and will collect evidence for a negative story. This is the norm. But what is available to you simply by asking high-quality questions regularly is so much better than normal.

I’m going to give you some great questions to ask, but there is one rule and it ALWAYS applies. You can never say, “I don’t know.” Saying I don’t know actively shuts down all your inner knowing. I don’t know is not allowed in a coaching session and every time I ask them (or myself!) “what if you did know”, they always have an answer. Of course. We know. You can say I’m figuring it out or I will figure it out, but NEVER I don’t know. OK, now that’s out of the way, try some of these questions.

What am I thinking? This builds awareness and always provides immediate distance from the circumstance you think is causing your feelings. Ask this all this time.

Why am I choosing to think this? This give us the responsibility back for our thinking. Remember emotional adulthood? This is a good step in that direction.

What can I learn from this? We truly can grow from any situation.

What is the solution to this problem? This sends the brain to work on the solution rather than spinning in negativity.

What would be the best case scenario? Start asking this to build the muscle of expecting good things in your life!

Your brain will answer the questions you give it! Learn to ask great questions and watch the quality of your life change.
